On a hot day, there's nothing worse than an Ice button that isn't working or an ice dispenser that makes little or no ice.
Don't worry, we have some simple tricks that can fix your ice maker and help cool things down.
Secondly, make sure the Ice Maker feature is turned on and that "Ice" is selected. This is the most likely reason why your fridge isn't dispensing ice.
Next, check if Child Lock is activated. This will prevent buttons, like Cubed Ice or Crushed Ice, from begin selected. It also could disable the ice dispenser.
If the Ice Maker is definitely turned on, there may be something wrong with the water line.
Make sure it's properly connected to the fridge, and make sure the water pressure is high enough.
You should also double check that the water valve is on and that water hose is not kinked or damaged.
Haven't used the ice maker in a long time? This could be another reason why little or no ice is dispensing.
When ice sits in the bucket, it can get stuck together and create a giant ice cube.
Check the ice bucket for any large cubes that could be blocking the ice chute, and discard any stuck-together pieces.
If you don't use the ice dispenser very often, you should do this every once in a while, so the same thing doesn't happen.
Another good idea is dispensing ice frequently, even if you don't intend to use it. This will also help prevent ice buildup.
